monday check-in

Poor D. He’s so sick. I went to court this morning, but then I came home to take care of him. He’s currently passed out on my couch. I’ll have to wake him soon so he can go pick up his daughter. I feel bad for him. Stuff like this is why we need to be living together already. Just a few more months.

I’m anxiously awaiting a text from my ex saying that I can come pick Jackson up, but that’s a few hours off still, as they just boarded the plane from DFW. I can’t wait to see his cute face, and give him a big hug.

Since I’ve been home with Dave most of the day, I’ve been able to get a lot of cleaning done. My place has been kind of a disaster lately. I’m slowly going through stuff and deciding what to keep vs what to throw out. I’ve also started packing up some stuff. It’s crazy to think I only have 2 1/2 months left in this place. The downside is that if the house isn’t move-in ready by August 5th (which let’s be honest…it won’t be), Jackson and I will be moving into Dave’s two bedroom townhouse. I’ll have to move most of my stuff to storage. Moving twice is not appealing at all. At least it will be the last time I do it for quite some time. I’ve moved almost every year since I turned 18. I’m almost 37. Crazy.

I also read a book today. The Passenger by Lisa Lutz. Highly recommended. I have read 39/52 books for the year. I think it’s safe to say I’m going to surpass my goal. Last night, I joined a book of the month club that a friend recently told me about. If you’re interested, comment with your email address and I’ll send you the info.

Tonight, the plan is to officially start training for a fall half-marathon. D said he would run it with me. Like actually with me. This is nice of him because I run so fucking slow. Like whoa. I’m so out of shape.

In other fitness news, I’m restarting sessions with my personal trainer tomorrow night. I need all the help I can get!

  1. I’m interested in hearing more about the book of the month club. I need inspiration to read something other than chick lit.

    • Okay so the site is https://www.bookofthemonth.com/. You can choose which genres you are interested in, and then pick a book each month based upon the available selections. You can also skip a month if you aren’t feeling any of them. For May, I chose “I Let You Go.” Let me know if you sign up, and if so, what you pick. Maybe we can both read the same book! Then we can go out for drinks and pretend like we are going to talk about it when really we will gossip. Ha. xoxo
