thoughts & things

  • I’m back in migraine hell. I woke up with a bad headache yesterday and it has just gotten worse. I feel super nauseous. Ugh.
  • D just texted me that he received a text from his ex that his daughter is getting stitches. I hope she’s okay. I don’t understand how a parent sends a text about something like that. That requires a phone call, IMO. He’s (obviously) freaking out.
  • Sigh.
  • Why are kids playing with knives?  D told me they are whittling at GS camp. I asked him if this was 18-fucking-50?
  • I remember when Jackson was three and he cut a lot of skin off the tip of one of his fingers (on a nail on the entertainment center). It bled a lot and I couldn’t get it to stop. So I called his dad (we were already separated at this point) and had him meet me at the ER. They ended up gluing it back together. Then the next morning, Jackson bit it off. Kids, man. Parenting is hard.
  • Since then I have invested in those liquid bandages. Those things are awesome.
  • I’m not super into the book I’m reading right now. It’s called Rich and Pretty. It was a Book of the Month Club book. I didn’t log in early enough to choose my own selection, so this is what I got. I may start a second book as well because this one is slow going. Not because it’s difficult reading, but because I’m bored by it.
  • Two weeks from today I am moving in with D. That’s so huge. I’m both excited and nervous. I hope we can survive the four of us living in his two bedroom townhouse.
  • The silver lining is that our house is going to feel even bigger by comparison.
  • All of my friends and colleagues (that I’m friends with on Facebook) ask me for updates on the house whenever I see them. I love how interested and supportive they are. I can’t wait to have a housewarming party.
  • I’m excited because I have formed a friendship with a colleague whom I really, really like. She lives just a few miles from the house and has a son around Jackson’s age.
  • I hope I start feeling better soon. D and I have fun plans tonight. Also, I need to run.
  • If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. And with that, I should sign off.

xoxo
