An absurd premise that is still somehow utterly captivating.

40-year-old Tess finds out her husband of like 25 years is having an affair with a 26-year-old, so she imprisons the mistress in her home during a hurricane, and shit gets crazy really fast.

Let me be clear: this shit is ridiculous. HOWEVER it’s a fun fucking ride.

The most interesting thing about this book is that the author wrote it after finding out her own husband was cheating on her. It is told from the point of view of both women, wife and mistress, in alternating chapters, and provides interesting insights into these women’s motivations. You find yourself identifying with, and also hating, each of them at some point in the book.

Recommended.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Having lived through my own affair, divorce, and all the related fallout, I found this book fascinating.
