We had our first staff meeting via Skype today, and it went really well. It helps to be able to see each other. We feel more connected now.

We are also working on setting up a Docusign account so that we can do these signing appointments remotely. Our trial run went well. Oh and we’re getting mobile apps for the cc processing. Right now we don’t have a way to run payments if someone isn’t at the office, and that’s not going to work at all. Not to mention it is completely stupid given technology.

I feel good about the direction we’re heading in. I want to try to go paperless too. We already have most of the documents saved electronically, but we could do better. We still rely on a lot of paper.

I’ve been giving a lot of thought about how I want to practice moving forward. I want to do a lot more work remotely. I want to limit in person client interaction where possible. I’m also considering hiring someone to cover all of my court dockets. It’s time.

  1. Good to be taking action to make things better rather than just doing what we’ve always done. Getting things done always feels good. And working smarter is always better than working more. Also, apparently I now spout useless aphorisms that seemed really sincere at the time…. I blame the apocalypse.
