I keep losing and gaining the same three pounds.

I started off great last week on WW, but then our lives fell apart and it has been messy eating and drinking ever since. I’m trying to ease back into it. I was so motivated after Cleveland, but now everything feels very meh.

It’s date night tonight and I’m going to splurge so…🤷🏻‍♀️

But I was talking to a friend last night, and he was like: you get so upset about your weight, but you’re thinner than all of us, and I’ve seen the way you drink!

I had to laugh, because he’s right.

We did the walk again last night. It feels good to at least be moving again. And I ate fairly well. Oh and I didn’t have any alcohol.

Baby steps.

I have like 4 months to lose five to ten pounds. That’s very manageable.

I’ll take it!

Today is weigh in day, and I almost skipped because ughhhhhh. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I’m down. In fact, I’m half a pound lower that my previous lowest weight (since starting fit by 40 this year). So yay!! These little lifestyle changes seem to be working. Slow and steady!

fitness recap: week 3

I had a bad week for a variety of reasons: busy schedule, not feeling well, cold af weather which made me skip my nightly walks with B. As a result, I only logged four measly miles and 1 CH workout. I’m hoping for a better week starting today. I did CH despite achy, swollen knees.

Oh well. Can’t own every week. 🤷🏻‍♀️

back on my bullshit

I hit a wall last week because I can’t even with this vanilla Shakeology.

BUT…I discovered this last week and it’s on its way to me. Time to pick a new flavor!

I already know I won’t do the coffee flavor, but I’m excited to try strawberry and greenberry. And I’m pumped about the addition of matcha and chaga.

fitness recap: week 2

This week I only managed to do Country Heat once. It was this morning actually.

But I logged 15.5 miles, and a lot of that was jogged instead of the usual power walking.

I feel good. That’s the most important thing.

I’m currently very grateful for my treadmill. I’ve been doing most of my run-walks outside, but there’s no way that can happen this weekend. This morning I did CH followed by a 2.5 mile walk on the treadmill (while I watched an episode of Queer Eye). I plan to do it again tomorrow.

gettin’ it!

I had an awkward amount of time between dropping Jackson off at school this morning and an appointment with his orthodontist right down the street. I parked next to the school, with a Chai latte, and intended to waste time answering emails and the like, when I realized: I was parked right next to the track! I took advantage of the fact that I happen to be dressed casually today, and went for a little walk. It was cold (26 degrees), but also beautiful and refreshing. Even better, I remembered I had the Map My Run app (I only wear my apple watch when exercising) so I was able to log the mileage to use in my weekly recap.

I feel good about this little non-scale victory.

Fit by 40 recap: week 1

Progress report time! My intent is to log all my activity weekly until my 40th birthday, to keep myself motivated.

My tracking started on Sunday.

This week:

  • PiYo x 1
  • Country Heat x 2
  • 14 miles of walking/jogging.

Not too shabby.

My diet has been on point all week. I’ve had Shakeology every morning. Oh and I’ve been on top of my meds, including my vitamins. Weigh in is on Wednesday.

I haven’t had any alcohol so far, but that’s likely to change tonight, because it’s date night. It’s all good though. Gotta find the balance.

As of Thursday, I’ll be done with my prednisone, and I’m scared about how my body will react. The plan is, however, to keep calories low during flares, and just go balls to the wall on activity whenever my body allows for it.


I was actually looking forward to having my Shakeology this morning! Who even am I? Here’s my current favorite recipe:

  • 1 scoop vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 cup of ice
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter

This does not suck. I’m going to repeat it tomorrow with the last of my chocolate.
