Splendid

There was nothing particularly splendid about today, so I decided to use this pic I took back in November when we were honeymooning. This was taken the very first night. We stopped on the drive into Key West and had a lovely little seafood dinner on this gorgeous beach. That evening was the epitome of splendid.

There aren’t really words to describe how incredible this trip has been. Not only was it relaxing and fun, but it was also a bonding experience. I feel like we’re closer than ever. 

I love being married to him. It still feels too good to be true, honestly. 

When we wake up we will be heading back to Miami to catch our flight home. I’m ready! I can’t wait to see our kids. And the cat. Oh and I can’t wait to sleep in our glorious bed. Also looking forward to the cold weather and lack of sunshine. My skin is fucking wrecked. 

There’s no place like home.

Holy fuck 

I’m exhausted. We’re cramming in as much fun as we can. Only one day left! I’m both happy and bummed about the end of the trip. 

I must say…I love ghost tours so very much. Fast Eddie was an awesome guide. We had a blast. 

I tried a Rum Runner tonight, which was essentially all booze, and now I’m in headache hell. 

Oh and snorkeling: the ocean was freezing and choppy as fuck. The boat ride was fun though. 

I got a sunburn today. Grr. 

I’m too fried to even form coherent thoughts. I’m going to go eat macarons in bed with the husband.

I have a tan and I hate it. I’ve been applying so much sunscreen and yet here we are. I can’t be a goth vampire chick with a fucking tan. Also, my freckles are popping like whoa and I hate my freckles. D loves it though, so that’s the silver lining. He doesn’t get this version of Jenn very often so I should let him enjoy it. I will admit my legs look good. 

And in just a bit we’re off to a four hour snorkeling excursion where I’m sure the tan will deepen. 

What’s up. 

We had an amazing dinner tonight. Oceanside dining. Delicious food. Excellent company. 

We’re so excited about the dog. We’ve been talking about it constantly. It’s going to be hard to keep the secret from the kids, but so  worth it. 

Big day tomorrow. Snorkeling day trip followed by a ghost tour pub crawl. 

Happy, happy. Two more days. We head home on Friday. I miss the kids and I’m looking forward to spending the weekend with the family.
