For Mother’s Day, I texted my mom. I also unblocked her on Facebook, though I’m not ready to be actual friends again. I looked at her profile and she’s got a pro-Trump photo frame so that’s fun.
For my own day, I’m just chilling. It feels nice to have nowhere to go and nothing to do. We did most of our celebrating yesterday, per my request, so I can just relax today. It’s glorious.
I got a fancy dinner out with the family. Jackson gave me a themed gift centered around things to do when I’m at the hospital and/or at home relaxing. Freya made me a card and wrote a sweet message that made me cry. She and I are thick as thieves nowadays. I have turned into her confidant. I’m trying my hardest to keep her on a good path. 14 is hard, bro.
Okay off I go to relax. I’m putting my phone away and disconnecting.
xoxo
I woke up and got all fancy, because the one thing I wanted today was a nice family photo.
My outfit:
This is the second of my new dresses from Stitch Fix btw.
Family pic!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
We unintentionally dressed alike, with the boys in gingham button down shirts, and the girls in white and navy polka dots.
Freya is wearing my dress. ❤️
Freya’s mom came around 10, so then/now it’s just me and the boys. We made breakfast. I made French toast before I realized that the milk was off. Ugh. Luckily, D came to the rescue with a lovely and delicious omelette.
And let’s not forget the mimosas:
And the presents!!
D got me some pajamas from Adore Me, but they aren’t here yet. Jackson gave me this compass necklace with a note that said, “Life is not about the destination, but the journey.”
After breakfast, I decided to change into something more comfy:
And returned to bed to read and nap and cuddle cats:
Yes, I brought the prosecco to bed with me. Lol.
And now I’m off to spend some time with the family. More later.
xoxo
What a fucking great day this has been! The only downside was missing Freya.
More selfies with my boy. Like my sticker? The cashier at the grocery store gave it to me! 😂
We made quite a feast: filet mignon, with shrimp scampi over angel hair, and asparagus.
And kitty joined us for dinner. Lol.
Dinner ended just in time for GoT (ep 5), and holy fuck I have ALL THE FUCKING FEELS.
I drank much wine. Btw, I’m wearing a Dave Matthews shirt and drinking Dave Matthews wine in this pic. I’m seeing him in concert on Wednesday. It’s DMB week!!
Had lunch with the boys, and enjoyed a giant beer.
Then I dropped them off at home, and spent a couple of hours shopping. Now I need a nap to rest up for part 3.
Oh and because friends on various social media sites were very curious about what note was in the “Evil” envelope:
So cute! I play a sort of evil sorceress in D&D, and I call the kids my “little chickens/chicks.” 💕
In the “annoyed” envelope, there is a note that says: chicks cannot speak for 10 minutes. Lol.
Freya had to leave at 10 am to go be with her mom, so we got up early to do some celebrating.
Here we are, still half asleep, rocking our pajamas and bedheads.
The card was perfect:
I’m feeling very spoiled. They know me so well.
That candle has amazing throw, btw. Highly recommended.
My favorite gift of all was handmade by Frey. I super duper mucho love it, and her. I feel so lucky to have her in my life.
Obviously, I had to open the “happy” envelope.
I collected my hug. ❤️
They drive me freaking crazy a lot of the time, but I love the hell out of these kids, and I feel incredibly lucky.
My kid made me a book for Mother’s Day called A Peek at My Mom. These are my favorite pages.
As I posted over on instagram: I’m going to keep it real. I fucking love me some Red Lobster. I grew up on that shit!
Good job, family. I feel loved!
