5 things on my “I want” list

  1. a Pomeranian puppy
  2. a better waist-to-hip ratio
  3. my pre-chemo hair
  4. a winning Powerball ticket
  5. a personal assistant

How close am I to achieving these goals?

I’m working on D about the puppy. Persistence is key.

I’m also working on shrinking my waistline. I have a waist trainer on the way, too.

My pre-chemo hair is a lost cause. I’ll miss you forever, bae.

The lawyer pals and I are still playing the Powerball consistently.

A personal assistant…maybe if I actually win the Powerball.

five pet peeves

  1. Passive aggressive behavior: just fucking say what you want to say, bro.
  2. Lateness: especially when clients are late for appointments, but really any sort of lateness drives me crazy. Be where you said you were going to be, when you said you were going to be there. It isn’t that hard. People like to say better late than never, but I disagree. Never is perfectly acceptable to me.
  3. These two are sort of related so I’m going to post them together: (a) when you try to move into the next lane and the person in that lane speeds up to block you, and (b) when you let someone over and they don’t wave to say thanks. Rude.
  4. When I’m talking to someone, and they aren’t fully listening to me/engaged, I feel epic rage.  I don’t make a point of speaking with most people, so if I’m talking to you then it’s important to me.
  5. People who spaz out on you the moment you see them, making the entire interaction super fucking painful and awkward, while you watch them spiral further and further out of control until they finally just leave; meanwhile, the entire time you were just standing there staring at them like what in the actual fuck is happening right now.  I have two people in mind where this is a constant issue, and I think that maybe I just make them nervous, which makes me feel like a bit of an asshole for what I just said, but still…fucking chill. Some people just have no chill, I guess.

Blog Challenge, Day 25: My top five favorite blogs

I read a lot of personal Tumblr blogs written by friends, but this list will concentrate on blogs written by people I don’t know in real life.

  1. Story by Modcloth
  2. A Little Earthquake – cancer blog/personal. Hasn’t been updated in a few months. I hope that changes.
  3. The Bloggess – I’ve always been bad about staying up to date on this one, but now it’s in my WordPress feed so yay!
  4. STL Hops – because beer.
  5. The Dressed Aesthetic – fashion blog. My favorite.

**five for friday**

  2. Cat cuddles.
  3. Boar’s Head brand cheese.
  4. Naps.
  5. Books. Currently reading: Red Queen and Took

  5. Exercising more.

  1. Extra time with Jackson.
  2. Seeing Dave tomorrow night.
  3. Kid free time with Dave on Sunday.

  5. The pre-construction meeting on Tuesday morning. Fucking finally!

5 things currently annoying me:

  1. That lame ass colleague I felt guilted into friending on Facebook who won’t stop making asinine comments on my statuses/photos.
  2. My ex. For reasons. Many reasons.
  3. People telling me how to feel.
  4. People whose default response in a text conversation is “lol.” I can’t work with that, sorry.
  5. People.

just 5 fucking things:

  1. I’m itchy again and it’s freaking me out. What if it’s just stress related because I’m fucking crazy and there is nothing that can be done and ugh?
  2. I gained five fucking pounds during the fifteen days I was on Prednisone. I’m hoping some of it is just water weight.
  3. I’m oh so tired. Even after a two hour nap.
  4. There is a hard run and relaxing bubble bath in my immediate future.
  5. “Caught a lite sneeze / Dreamed a little dream / Made my own pretty hate machine.”

This is what I read in 2015. 52 books. My goal was 50. I’m halfway through #53 right now, so that will likely be finished up by the end of the weekend.

Not too shabby.

My top five of the year:

  1. All The Light We Cannot See
  2. A Little Life
  3. Bird Box
  4. Mr. Abernathy
  5. The Girl On The Train

number five with a bullet

I watched High Fidelity today for like the millionth time. I swear, I’ll never get tired of that movie. Anyway, one of the many reasons I like that movie is because of the top five lists. I love lists! My boyfriend has had an off day today, and so I have been inspired to make a list for him.

TOP FIVE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT MY BOYFRIEND:

  1. He’s fucking hot. For a variety of reasons: looks, intelligence, sense of humor, etc. He’s the total package of awesomeness.
  2. He’s trust worthy. I trust him more than I’ve ever trusted anyone ever, which is why I’ve been able to give him my entire heart. I’ve always held back in past relationships. Not anymore. I’m all in.
  3. He’s genuinely kind and caring. He has a big heart and a sensitive side, though he tries to hide it sometimes. I broke down his walls, which took time, but I have been so rewarded for my efforts.
  4. He’s fun. We always have fun together no matter what we are doing. I love our inside jokes and nicknames. I love how he always makes me laugh. He can always cheer me up when I’m having a bad day.
  5. He’s my best friend…my person. That really says it all, doesn’t it?
